DJ_Rkod_-_8 DJ Rkod audio opensource_audio 8 is my third album, a double disc work that nears the two hour mark -- my longest yet. Combining elements of IDM, industrial and various other genres such as ambient and big beat, this is my most firmly electronic album to date -- the title track and several others are almost completely synthesized, with simple note progressions heavily processed and often filtered and distorted. Many tracks are sample based, (and there is a long list of attributions crediting these to their original authors) while a few rely on heavy, downtuned guitars and power chords as well as compressed electronic beats and atmospheric melodies. Psychedelia influenced spacey grooves like "Gaze," while "Become Noise Parts 1 & 2" nears atonal industrial with its heavily distorted, deeply layered drum machines. Other than the presence of a few vocal samples, these are all instrumentals, as all my work until now has been. Without the people who also released their works -- be they musical or otherwise -- this album would not be what it truly needed to be; to them, I extend my deepest thanks. Enjoy!
